MAWER: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Henderson Mawer. Ralph passed away February 26th, 2020 at the Assiniboine Centre surrounded by his family. Ralph was born in Rivers on June 9th, 1947 and grew up on the farm in Spring Valley south of Rivers. He attended school in Spring Valley, Bradwardine, Rivers and Brandon Schools. He married Arlee Paige and together they raised three children. He bought his uncle’s farm and together with his father they farmed his whole life. Ralph leaves to mourn his wife Arlee, sons Doug (Colleen) Mawer of Brandon, Chad Mawer of Rivers and daughter Erin (Jeff) Ash of Gilbert Plains; grandchildren Tyler, Brett and Hailey Mawer, and Peyton and Cameron Ash; his sister Peggy (Jack) Chapman of Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph loved his family, music and farming. At Ralph’s request cremation has taken place at Brockie Donovan with a private family burial to follow in the spring.“Your life was a blessing,Your memory a treasure,You are loved beyond wordsAnd missed beyond measure.”
