HUNTER: Lorne William Hunter. Lorne was born December 3, 1935, in Brandon Manitoba and passed away on March 16, 2020. Lorne grew up on the family farm in the Hunter District until moving to the Grand Valley Road in 1943. He attended Hunter School, Bloomsbury, Earl Oxford, and BCI. Lorne farmed with his Dad until 1960 when he moved to the Roseland district, where he farmed until retiring to Brandon in 2004. Lorne was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, basketball, snowmobiling, curling, 5 pin bowling, baseball, and lawn bowling. He encouraged and supported not only his children, but many of his nieces, nephews and neighbourhood kids in all their activities. Whether it was curling, volleyball, swimming, baseball, theatre or 4-H, he was always on the sidelines cheering them on. Lorne was predeceased by his parents, Dave and Dorothy Hunter and his 3 brothers, Keith, Don and Glen. He is survived by his wife Louise (Simpson), daughter Jodee Webster, son Dan, granddaughter Addison Webster, sister Shirley MacLeod of Mississauga, sisters-in-law Dorothy, Jean, Mimi, Eileen (Byron) Campbell and Jean Simpson of Airdrie, AB, as well as many nieces, nephews and close family friends. A Celebration of Lorne’s life will take place at a later date, and he will be buried at the Roseland Cemetery.
