BART: Annie Bart of Brandon, MB passed away on April 9, 2020 at the Assiniboine Center of BRHA at the age of 89. She was compassionate and caring woman who loved her family with every cell of her being. She married Louis Bart in 1950. They farmed on a mixed family farm north east of Rossburn for 27 years. There over the years she milked cows, tended to many farm animals and did extensive vegetable and flower gardens. And she helped out with baling, combining and working the land. She swung a hammer did drywalling and painting during the making of new buildings and renovations to properties she and Louis worked on over the years. She liked to crochet, knit and was an amazing painter of water, oil and acrylics. She produced many beautiful paintings of scenery and animals and flowers that shed sell at numerous craft sales in Manitoba. She played the Hawaiian guitar, banjo, mandolin, and the organ for most of her life. She often hosted many family and friend gatherings and dinners. After retiring from the farm Annie and Loud moved to a small 12-acre hobby farm within walking distance just south of Rossburn. She worked at the Rossburn District Health Center in the laundry department for 13 and a half years. Many health issues and family issues took place and Annie and Louis retired from the hobby farm and moved into Brandon to help their daughter raise their 2 grandchildren while she healed in the hospital after a terrible auto accident. Annie ran the little greenhouse in the yard for 20 years and grew vegetables and flowers from seed for her own garden. Annie totally enjoyed the 25 years spent at the dear little summer cottage at Vista and completely enjoyed her 2 little dogs that were her constant companions. For much of her life she struggled with many challenging health issues. But through it all her faith stayed a constant very strong element of her life. She was an active member of a bible study group for over 10 years. She prayed regularly many times a day and continued to do so till nearly her last breath. She is predeceased by her son Jonnie, Louis her husband. Her parents Sam and Nellie, sisters Helen, Phyllis, Teenie, brothers Marcel and John. She leaves to mourn her brother Fred (Carol) and sister Jean. Also her daughter Betty, grandson John (Mardel) great grandchildren Aislinn and Cian, and granddaughter Andrea (Dennis) and nieces and nephews and dear friends Joan Baker, Debbie and Ross Taylor, and many others who were as close as family that are to numerous to mention. The funeral services were herald at St. Theresas Roman Catholic Church in Rossburn on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 with only 10 family members in attendance. Pallbearers were her grand children, their spouses and the attendants from Raes Funeral home. Interment followed at St. Theresas cemetery. Due to Covid-19 a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date to be announced. Annie made an impression on people she met, neighbours, people she worked with, and friends. We will always miss her humour, her unique sayings, her loving hugs, her creativity, her paintings and her love of dishes and moving furniture. We will miss your pretty blue eyes. May you rest from your earthly struggles and find peace in our Lords loving presence. Love you Hanka Slobodeska
