It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Kroeker on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020 at the age of 57.
She leaves to mourn one son, Brenton Kehler, and one daughter, Carissa Kehler. She is also survived by her brothers, Michael and Leona and their family, Clyde’s family, Leonard and Lori and their family, sister Teresa and Andre Barthelette and their family.
She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Esther Kroeker, brother Clyde and her brother Edward in infancy.
Valerie was born on Jan. 13, 1963 in Steinbach, MB. She grew up on Keating Road. Many happy moments were shared with her older sister Teresa. They especially enjoyed dressing up the family pets for hours on end. At the age of 9, Valerie moved to Steinbach with her parents. A fond memory of living on Donald Street was playing with her neighbourhood friends and hanging out in the basement listening to her collection of Bay City Roller records.
Later with a family of her own, Valerie, as her mother before her, put her gift of sewing to good use, sewing just about every piece of clothing her children needed. Her children were her pride and joy.
A celebration of Valerie’s life was held on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020 at Birchwood Funeral Home in Steinbach.
