John Klippenstein, age 81, of Calgary, AB, formerly of Steinbach, MB, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020. John was born on Mar. 9, 1939. He passed away at Chinook Hospice in Calgary where he received loving and compassionate care during the last weeks of his life.
John was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Maria Klippenstein (the love of his life), his parents John and Helen Klippenstein, and sons Johnny and Ethan Klippenstein.
John will be lovingly remembered by his children David and Nadia Klippenstein (and children Luke, Sarah, Maximus, Kostya), Suzanne and Dale Fruson (and children Seth, Alyssa, Ashlee), Darren and Catherine McGregor (and children Simon and Sophia), Amanda and Scott McAfee (and children John, Hailey and Lacey), John and Ericka Gergely (and children Kahla, Nakia, Michael and Danica), granddaughter Aubrey Klippenstein, Jonas Klippenstein (and children Victoria, Thomas, Benjamin and Elijah) in addition to 26 great-grandchildren.
John was married to Maria Klippenstein on June 28, 1958. Life was never boring with these two. They exposed their seven children to many adventures and experiences. John was a gifted architect and designer and an incredible cook. He loved his family and his wife, taking joy in living life to the fullest with incredible enthusiasm. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have all benefited greatly from the life he lived and cherished the memories he helped create in all of their lives. He was an adventurer and a dreamer who lived life large. He loved God, his wife and his children. During the last days of his life, he was spiritually reflective and extremely grateful for his family.
John will be dearly missed by his family and friends. We are all blessed to know that he is now joining his beloved wife Maria and is in the arms of his loving Saviour and Lord.
Memorial graveside service to be held on Friday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. at Eden Brook Funeral Home, 24223 Township Road 242, Calgary, AB, T3Z 3K2.
