MARY HARDER
(nee Friesen)
Apr. 3, 1936-July 26, 2020
Peacefully, with family by her side, Mary Harder, age 84, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Harder, on Mar. 14, 2006, her daughter-in-law Sandra Harder (1992), brother Abe Friesen, one sister in infancy, her parents as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Mom will be deeply missed by her children, George (Anne) Harder, Henry (Marlene) Harder, Alvina (Richard) Dyck, Susie Harder, Fran Harder and Leona (Roland) Szyska, her 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, as well as her five sisters, one sister-in-law and their families.
Mom was born in the RM of Hanover on Apr. 3, 1936, growing up on the family farm in Ile des Chenes, MB with five sisters and one brother. She married the love of her life, Frank Harder, on July 21, 1957. Together they raised their six children on a farm in Randolph, MB.
Mom and Dad sold their farm in 1986, retiring to their new home in Kleefeld, MB. Together they developed their hobbies, building and painting many keepsakes and treasures, which fill the homes of family and friends. In 2005, Mom moved to Woodhaven during Dad’s illness, where she spent her remaining years.
Mom was an active member of her church, serving in various capacities throughout her life. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31 at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church with public viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment and reception to follow.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the exceptional staff at Silver Lining and the nursing staff at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre for their kindness and compassionate care shown during these unprecedented times.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
