S. RUTH JANZ
(Penner)
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Ruth passed away peacefully in Mission, BC with family at her side on Saturday, June 6, 2020.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Ken of 53 years, sons Philip (Brenda) and Andrew (Melissa), and eight grandchildren.
Ruth was born on Dec. 7, 1945 to A.D. and Kay Penner. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood and youth in Steinbach, MB and had many special memories of times spent with her family and friends.
She attended Briercrest School for part of her high school. This is where she met Ken. She also attended Winnipeg Bible College (Providence).
Ken and Ruth were married in 1967 and a few years later left for Germany where they were involved in ministry. They also served in Switzerland for some years and spent some time in Israel before returning to Canada in 2015.
Ruth was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother.
Throughout her illness she remained cheerful and never complained.
Her faith and trust in God were foundational to her life. She is now at home with her Heavenly Father “more alive than ever”.
Our family lives with hope knowing that we will meet again one day.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother and three sisters, Phyllis Neustaedter (Jim 2019), Charles and Pauline Penner, Jack and Pearl Stenekes and George and Chris Kornelson.
