June 18, 1945-June 12, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our father, Reg Sproule, on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the age of 74 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Darcy (Lina), Dean (Laura), Julie (Gerard), Twila (Gren) and Jamie-Lee (Barrett); his grandchildren, Katlyn, Christopher, Vanencia, Genevieve, Keelee, Kyra, Kennedy, Cole, Brooke, Tristan and Ainsley. Dad will also be remembered by his siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Jean, parents Harry and Jenny Sproule, and his grandson, Bailey.
Dad and Mom were married in 1970 and continued to farm the Sproule family farm near Giroux. Two years later they started their family. Dad’s passion for farming and working his land continued until his passing; he never slowed down.
Dad was very proud of the friendships he built with his hay and grain customers over his many years of farming. The appreciation and love for Dad was very evident from neighbours and local farmers, when in the fall of 2006 Dad had a farm accident preventing him from harvesting. Both Mom and Dad spoke often about the convoy of combines coming down the road to finish their harvest.
Aside from family and farming, an additional passion of Dad’s was flying his Cessna airplane. He went on many trips with Mom and loved to see the land from above.
Along with Mom, Dad drove school bus for the Hanover School Division for almost 25 years. He always seemed to have a soft spot for the kids on the bus and insisted they call him “Reg” instead of “Mr. Sproule.” He made many friendships with the staff, the bus drivers, and the guys at the bus garage.
We will always have many fond memories of Dad. We are all proud to continue his legacy of a strong work ethic and compassion for others.
We will miss Dad very much, but we take joy in knowing Mom and Dad are reunited again.
