It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman Holme, loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Alvina Holme, brothers-in-law Orest Chornoboy, Ernie Stefan, Paul Wyryha and Ken Maki, and nephew Dean Maki.
He is survived by his wife, June Holme (Oswald), of 58 years; his children, Kimberly (John) Manaigre, Marcia (Glenn) Romaniuk; seven grandchildren, Brittany (Gareth) Priest, Ryan Manaigre, Jessica (Justin) Manaigre, Avry and Neve Romaniuk; four great-grandchildren, Sofie, Harvey and Graham Priest, Aries Manaigre and baby due November 2020.
Norm was born in the RM of La Broquerie and attended the Oswald School. He was raised on the family dairy farm. In his early years, he was a first class pressure welder in Calgary, AB. He worked there for five years after which time Norman came back to Friedensfeld, MB to take over the family dairy farm. Looking back, he wouldn’t have changed a thing. Norm loved farming.
Norman and June loved to square and round dance. He loved to play the guitar. He enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed travelling and spending time with his many friends and family. Norman was a most patient, kind and caring man. Everything he did in life was for his family. He will be greatly missed.
“I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith; Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the upright judge, will give to me on that Day. And not only to me but to all those who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
A private interment of ashes will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the St John’s Lutheran Cemetery, RM of Hanover, MB.
