Bernardine Plett, born Apr. 11, 1936, aged 83, of Steinbach, MB, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2020 at her residence.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Rev Cornelius Plett, and their daughters, Peggy Anderson (Grant), Pauline Loewen (Cliff); their sons, Danny Plett (Sherri), David Plett (Junia); two brothers, Clint Toews (Pearl), Chris Toews (Laverne); 13 grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Valrae Toews and her daughter-in-law Lenore Plett (David).
She was married on June 24, 1956 to Cornelius Plett of Steinbach, MB. She was a gifted singer, quilter, loving mother and faithful wife.
She was a woman of deep faith and loved to share it with those she came in contact with. She had a brilliant smile and a warm, loving character, always looking out for the needs of her husband, children and others, reaching out to individuals in need of love. Her family was a source of great joy to her and she loved nothing more than to interact with and entertain her children and their spouses and her grandchildren in her home.
Viewing, by invitation only, was held on Thursday, Apr. 2 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. The funeral service was held on Friday, Apr. 3 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with interment that followed at the Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach.
