Peacefully, on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, Agatha passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour in the Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 92.
Agatha was predeceased by her parents, Abram and Katharina Dyck; husband, Peter; and sisters, Katarina and Margaret.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Vern (Roselin); daughters, Myra (Russ) Friesen, Andrea (Rob) Doig; grandchildren, Sharon (Neil), Stephanie (Tim), Amanda (Levi), Christine (Matthew), Jessica (Khalid), Laurel (Ralph), Kathleen, Michael and Meghan; as well as nine great-grandsons. Agatha will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Agatha was born and raised on the family farm in Plum Coulee, MB. She treasured the time she had as a teenager at Gimli Bible Camp, and then at age 17 she travelled to Ontario to work at a canning factory, and then moved to Winnipeg where she gained employment at Luke’s Electric, and then Eaton’s. She met Peter Klassen, and they were married on June 12, 1949. In 1964, they moved to Oak Bluff to farm. They raised their three children to love the outdoors. They retired to live in Winnipeg and spent 23 years wintering in Lake Havasu, AZ. Agatha and Peter were married 58 years before Peter passed in August 2007.
In 2011, Agatha moved to Lindenwood Manor assisted living and enjoyed her friends and taking part in as many activities as possible. Agatha enjoyed spending time with family, especially loved her time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending church at Christian Fellowship Chapel, golfing, swimming, bowling, travelling, and playing games. Agatha had a strong love for her Lord and Saviour and lived out her faith daily.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Agatha’s name may be made to Gimli Bible Camp, Box 1579, Gimli, MB, R0C 1B0, or Christian Fellowship Chapel, 465 Osborne St, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2A4.
