Elizabeth (Harder) Wiebe, daughter of Diedrich and Aganetha Harder and stepdaughter of Katherine (Toews), age 77, of Steinbach, MB, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children: Richard (Marilyn) Wiebe, Eleanor (Paul) Friesen, Marsha Martens, Gerald (Tammy) Wiebe, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters, two sisters-in law, and three brothers-in-law.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband Cornelius (Niel) and one grandson.
Elizabeth was born on Dec 15, 1941, in Steinbach. She grew up in Steinbach. Elizabeth was baptized in June of 1960 and became a member of the Steinbach Bergthaler Mennonite Church. Elizabeth married Cornelius Wiebe on July 10, 1960, and they enjoyed 57 years together.
Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, gardening, and volunteering. She worked at the Steinbach sewing factory for many years and then at Loewen Windows. Upon retiring she enjoyed time volunteering with the Heartland Quilters and at the MCC Thrift store. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Niel.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many doctors and nurses at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre and St. Boniface Hospital along with all the addition supporting people (EMS) who took such great care of Mom.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to Heartland Quilters.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing prior to the service.
Interment will take place at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
