Marie-Louise Mireault, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at Villa Youville, Ste Anne, MB.
Marie was born in La Broquerie, MB where she grew up and met her husband Martin. They were married on Sept. 25, 1952. They farmed, gardened and raised foster children.
She worked at a sewing factory and Friendly Family Farms in Steinbach until her retirement.
Marie kept busy with arts and crafts and took up knitting as a favourite pastime. During her time at the Chalet in La Broquerie, she helped to organize activities and did volunteer work with the seniors. For the last three years, she resided at the Villa Youville Personal Care Home in Ste Anne where she continued to keep busy knitting, colouring and other activities.
She is survived by her son Marcel, daughter Marie (Mike Esch), grandsons Christopher, Mathieu, Marc (Amanda), her sister Marguerite Guigeno, and sisters-in-law Emelda Simard and Lina Therrien.
She was predeceased by her husband Martin (1981), son Emile (2001) and son-in-law Maurice Gauthier (2004). She was also predeceased by brothers and sisters Simard: Marie-Ange, Etienne Elisé, Ernest, Eloi, Eustacahe, Madeleine, and Marie-Claire; brothers and sisters Therrien: Eglantine, Justine, Jean-Marie, Emmanuel, Séraphin, Hermeline, Simone, and Arsène.
The Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the St Joachim Catholic Parish, La Broquerie, MB with a viewing prior to the service.
The interment will take place at St Joachim Catholic Parish Cemetery, La Broquerie, MB following the service.
The family would like to thank the personnel and staff at the Villa Youville for their help and support for the care our mother needed.
