PETER B. KEHLER
Peter B. Kehler, 86, of Steinbach, MB, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at the Bethesda Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Helen; four children, Larry (Sheila), Alice (Dale) Barkman, Carol (Lorne) Dyck and Sandra (Sheldon) Harms; four grandchildren, Clint (Jessica) Barkman and Jessica Barkman, Christopher (Nicole) Dyck, Caitlin Dyck; and six great-grandchildren.
Dad was born Oct. 31, 1931 to Peter S. and Katharina Kehler in Blumengard, Hanover, the sixth of 12 children. He grew up on the family farm near Mitchell. Dad and Mom were married Sept. 1, 1956 by Bishop Henry K. Schellenberg. On their 50th anniversary, they moved to Fernwood Place. They were married for 61 years.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Isaac and Eva Schellenberg; three brothers, Jacob as a baby, Andy and Henry; brothers-in-law, Aaron Isaac, Leonard Unger, Cornelius Peters, Jake Schellenberg, Edward Schellenberg; and sister-in-law, Ruth Schellenberg.
He is survived by his siblings, Helen Unger, Nettie Peters, William (Tina) Kehler, Anne (Jake) Doerksen, Tina (Willie) Bergen, Frieda (Erdman) Neufeld; and sisters-in-law, Sara Isaac and Mathilda Kehler.
The family would like to thank all of you for your support, condolences and prayers, and for the many visitors our dad received while he was in the hospital.
