Following a lengthy illness, Ken Dayment, age 68, of Ste. Anne passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 peacefully at Ste. Anne Hospital with family by his side.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; daughters Tami Ross (Gil) and their sons Hunter and Bentley; and Kelly Dayment (Fraser Potts); sisters Shirley Best (Rick) and their son Mike and family; Barb Hirose and her daughters Kim, Krista; Jennifer and families.

He was predeceased by his parents Marg and Ralph, brother Bob and nephew Shaun Best.

Ken was born in Winnipeg and grew up in River Heights. He met his wife Bonnie on a blind date and they spent the next 46 years together, the last 40 in Ste. But his passion was always being a firefighter where he served as Fire Chief in Ste. Anne for over 25 years. Ken was a car enthusiast and cherished his 1967 Coronet. His love for the lake began in Matlock and continued over the years to his family cabin in Lac du Bonnet. Ken had a unique laugh and sense of humor. His love of people led him to easily form many friendships.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and health care aides that enriched Ken’s quality of life over the years.
