It is with deep sadness that the family of Joyce Wright Meilleur announces her passing after a brief illness with cancer. Joyce passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the age of 67 years old with her family at her bedside. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Lionel, and her children, Danny (Rita), Sandra (Mike) and Tanya (Laurent). Joyce will also be forever remembered by her 4 grandchildren Alyssah (Austin), Devon, Justin and Alexa. Joyce also has 4 siblings, Kathy (Rick), Anne, Keith (Virginia), and Tommy (Sandra). Joyce was predeceased by one brother Terry (Helen) Scott and both of her parents, Agnes and Kenneth Scott.
Joyce was born in Galashiels, Scotland on February 15, 1950. She moved with her family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at the tender age of seven. It is in Winnipeg where she grew up and met the love of her life Lionel Meilleur. Joyce was destined to be a nurse and eventually worked over 20 years at Ste. Anne Hospital while raising her family with her husband.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Ste. Anne Hospital staff who cared for Joyce in the last few weeks of her life. Joyce regarded many of the Ste. Anne Hospital staff as an extension of her family, and she was cared for as such. The family would also like to thank Brenda and Michelle for their loving dedication to Joyce in her last few weeks.
The family wishes for any donations to be made out to Ste. Anne Hospital.
