APRIL. 14, 1924 – AUGUST 6, 2017
Mom was born in Dominion City where she received her education. She worked at various jobs in Dominion City after school. She spent 2 years in the Air Force, where she was stationed in the Portage Area. She met and married Matthew Graydon in October of 1945. She was married for 66 years.
Mom is survived by her children Cliff (Rose), John, Marjorie (Mike Stepaniuk), Donald (Georgie), Gordon (Joanne); 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Jean Kheen, Gwen (Brian Nichols) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Matthew; parents James and Eva French; her grandson John Graydon; brothers Wallace, Thomas, Ken and Vaughn; sisters Dorothy, Norma and Joan.
Mom worked faithfully side by side with Dad on the family farm in Greenridge. She was involved in 4-H for a number of years helping many young people in the community learning the art of sewing.
She was a dedicated member of the Greenridge community and enjoyed assisting in organizing and helping with the various functions in the community.
During retirement, Mom and Dad spent many good years travelling. Highlights of their travels were Hawaii, Nashville, Alaska and all across Canada.
They found great enjoyment in camping and fishing throughout Manitoba with friends and neighbors.
Mom’s greatest joys were first spoiling her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren were a great delight and she looked forward to seeing them.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Greenridge United Church in Greenridge, MB. Interment will proceed the service
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenridge United Church.
We as a family would like to thank the management and staff at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris for their dedicated care, their kindness during Mom’s stay.
