After more than 60 years together, Bill and Alvina were apart for only a short time before being reunited in the presence of their Lord and Savior on June 1, 2017.
Alvina Donna Friesen (nee Klippenstein) passed away on December 13, 2016, at Pine Acres Home, in Westbank BC, at the age of 78. Just five months later, on June 1, 2017, Bill (William/Wilhelm) Friesen passed away at The Central Okanagan Hospice House, in Kelowna BC, at the age of 83.
Bill and Alvina grew up, met, and married near Altona, Manitoba. They lived in Morris and Winnipeg for a short time, but settled on a farm, near Niverville, where they raised their family. In 1981, they moved to Calgary, and in 2000 to Westbank, BC. Finally, in 2010, they moved to Kelowna.
During their many years together, Bill & Alvina loved to hop in their car, van, or camper and drive to "wherever." Sometimes they had an idea where they were going, but never a "plan!" They had many friends that they stayed in touch with over the years so there was always somewhere to go and someone to visit.
Bill & Alvina are survived by their daughter Valorie (Alvin); sons Brent and Blair; grandchildren Shevon (Jamy), Shaylene (Tyler) and Ryan as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Alvina is also survived by her brother Fern (Margaret), Allan (Sheila), Dennis (Irene), Earl (Dean), Ray (Bernice) and Gary.
A joint Celebration of Life "faspa" will be held for Bill and Alvina on July 29th, at 3:00PM at the Golden Friendship Centre, 118 2nd Ave S, Niverville Manitoba.
