BETTY MCGARVEY
(NEE BADDER)
Jan. 17, 1933-May 26, 2017
Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 26, 2017, at the age of 84, at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.
She was predeceased by her father Charles Frances Badder, her mother Phoebe Elizabeth Kennie, her first husband Bill Stevenson, her sisters Frances, Emily, Kathleen and Thelma, her twin brothers Jim and Leslie, and Arnold.
She leaves behind her ex-husband, Bill McGarvey; two step-sons, Robert (Florence) and William (Bill Jr) McGarvey of Calgary, AB; three grandchildren, Dacarla, Will and Evelyn; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Jordan, of Abbotsford, BC. She also leaves behind her special niece Flo Badder, nephew Joe (Colleen) Yanz, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Betty enjoyed riding her scooter (buggy) everywhere, going to the mall, shopping and playing bingo on Thursday afternoon. Her interests were sewing, making patch quilts, embroidery, knitting baby blankets and afghans. She enjoyed puzzles, painting pictures, word find, playing cards, and watching wrestling on TV. She loved to do crafts and listen to old-time country music
Cremation has taken place. Out of respect, and to fulfill Auntie Betty’s final wishes, there will be no service.
Rest in peace.
