George Edward Bartinski

George passed away on December 12, 2016 at the Vita and District Health Centre at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife Ruth, sons Grant, Kevin (Wendy), grandsons Mikey, Tyler and Derek, his brother Mike (Donna), sister in law Angeline, sister Jean (Raymond) and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Naska, brother Joe and nephew Wayne.

George grew up in Sprague and spent most of his life working as a cattle farmer in the area, often supplementing the farm income mining up north or logging locally. He enjoyed the freedom and experiences these occupations availed, but mostly the wide range of people he was able to associate and interact with. His love of being outdoors and nature was reflected in the many wild animals he rescued and befriended over the years or the bounty of fresh edible delights after a stroll in the bush. George was an avid reader and knowledgeable on many topics, a definite asset for his many coffee breaks with family and friends. He always had a sense of humour which he maintained until his passing.

A family graveside memorial will be held May 27, 2017. If family or friends desire, a donation may be made to a charity of their choice.
