ANNETTE LAZARUK (NEE PAINCHAUD)
July 11, 1943- April 27, 2017

Peacefully, surrounded by her family Mom left this life to be with the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Ben of 53 years, her children: Mark (Janice), Dean (Debbie) and Lisa (Len); her grandchildren: Joshua, Tamara, Jared, Sarah, Emily and Hannah. She also leaves behind her brothers: Louis and Raymond and her sister Marie as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mom was born on July 11, 1943 in Prud’homme, Saskatchewan. The youngest of 10 children, Mom grew up knowing the importance of family. On October 5, 1963, Annette married Ben and they moved to the family farm in Caliento, Manitoba, where they would raise their family. Mom had a true love of farm life. She was an avid gardener and often participated in the horticultural events, winning badges for her beautifully canned fruit and vegetables. Mom enjoyed and took pleasure in taking care of all the animals on the farm. The farm animals loved her as much as she loved them.

Mom instilled in us the importance of marriage and family. She made sure that we always took the time to celebrate, get together, share a meal or a cup of tea. Mom clearly cherished her grandchildren. Every grandchild had a special relationship with Mom. Mom’s heart and home was always open to all the children that crossed her path. She was an amazing hostess and cook. At any given time she seemed to be able to whip up a wonderful meal and always enjoyed time spent around the kitchen table. Mom’s friends were very dear to her. She loved connecting with them and spent many a night on the phone catching up and checking in with them. Mom’s faith in God was unwavering. How she lived her life was a testament to her faith in Christ.

We would like to thank the Bethesda Regional Hospital staff for all their care and compassion for Mom.

Mom’s filled our lives with love, happiness and kindness. She was encouraging, a caregiver and a friend, but most of all a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

A celebration of her life will take place on May 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, with Pastor Aaron Nhlazane officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, Winnipeg, MB.
