HELEN DORVAULT
September 10, 1926 – April 1, 2017
Peacefully after a short illness and a brief time in the hospital, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at De Salaberry District Health Centre in St Pierre. She was the youngest of eight, born on the family homestead in Carrick, on September 10, 1926 to Mike and Susan Mezzo. She was married in 1945.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert, all of her siblings, and her son Al.
She will be sadly missed by her children Mike, William, Kelly (Val), Florence (Peter), Frank, Marie, Susan, Helen, Beverley, Betty (Mark), daughter-in-law June, 25 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
From 1945 to 2002 she resided with her husband on the family farm in Woodridge raising 11 children. She was a strong and determined woman. She loved gardening, cooking, the family pets, and the farm animals. She loved to visit, play cards, sing and dance. In her later years, she lived in Steinbach for about 10 years, before moving to Chalet Malouin in St Malo.
We have tremendous appreciation for our mother. She will be greatly missed by her family.

The family thanks Chalet Malouin, Dr M. Nasir and the staff at the De Salaberry District Health Centre.
The pallbearers will be Mona Friesen, Brent Dorvault, Michette Weiss, Joey Gerardy, Marcel Laferriere, and Kellen Dorvault. The honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Dorvault, Krystal Verhoog, Myra Weiss, Sandra Gigolyk, Aleesha Gerardy, and Emma Laferriere.
If friends so desire, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Woodridge.
