Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID FRANKLIN BELSHAM
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of David on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the age of 72. His loss will be strongly felt by his wife of almost 50 years Doris (Ross), his two daughters Teresa (Randy) Yestrau and Louise (Hubert) Stoffels, and his granddaughters Jessica and Cassandra Yestrau. He will also be remembered by his siblings George (Liz), Charles (Marie), Bill (Carol), Jim (Tina) Belsham and his sister Phyllis (Roger) Lavergne. Born April 3rd, 1944, David grew up on the farm south of Anola. He owned and operated a gravel truck before returning to farming full time. He loved working the fields and watching the fruits of his labour grow.
Once he retired from farming he continued his love of growing things in his garden. Each year he would say he was making his garden smaller but every year family, friends and the local food bank benefited from his green thumb. His love of nature was passed on to his grandchildren as he shared all he knew about plants, animals and birds. Throughout the years, hunting, ice fishing, playing with old tractors and spending time at home were his favorite past times. His last days were spent walking the dog and ripping around on his snowmobile. Rest in Peace. We will miss you.
Our family would like to give a very special thank you to Emergency Responders who answered our call.
A celebration of David’s life was held at Anola Community Club on Wednesday, January 25th. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to an animal shelter or food bank of your choice.
