Auguste Peloquin peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones, at Villa Youville (Ste-Anne) on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the age of 90. Born in Ste-Agathe, the fourth of ten children of Albert Peloquin and Emilienne Sorin, he outlived his wife Juliette (Lemire), his sisters Albertine and Cecile, all his brothers (Jacques, Jean-Louis, Paul-Emile et Maurice) and his devoted daughter Joanne.
He leaves behind his sisters Annette (Montreal), Marie Ouimet and Arlette Schamber (St-Boniface), as well as his sons Paul (Ste-Agathe) and David (Ottawa), his daughter-in-law Mary Frances Goguen and grandchildren Matthieu and Brigitte (also in Ottawa) and his son-in-law Alain Schmitt (St-Boniface).
Having suffered a stroke in 1986, Auguste was nevertheless able to live with right-side paralysis for over 30 years thanks to his sociability and to his passionate appetite.
Enormous thanks are due to staff and volunteers at Villa Youville for their devoted service over the last three years, and in particular to Sisters Rioux and Vermette and to Mrs. Gisele Connelly.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Ste-Agathe Church, Ste. Agathe, MB.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Winnipeg, MB.
