Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE CESMYSTRUK
Passed away peacefully at the Vita Personal Care Home on October 28, 2016 at the age of 98.
She will be forever missed and remembered by her grandchildren Denise, Melanie (Bryce) and Jason (Laura) Cesmystruk, her great grandchildren Nik, Klaudya, Rhys, Izac, Maks, Baylee, Abby, Jayne and Jack, as well as numerous other family members and friends. Baba was predeceased by her husband John, her son Nestor and daughter-in-law Sonia.
All of those who had the fortune of meeting her came to know her as 'Baba Annie', a title which made her beam with pride. Throughout her life, Baba set an example of strength of character and spirit, faith and acceptance, hard work and laughter. Upon entering her home, every visitor could expect to be served a traditional, homemade Ukrainian dish and a warm welcome to come sit a while. Well into her later years, Baba maintained a large garden as well as her own home, hand-painted pysanky and remained an active member of both her church and community, where everyone knew of her ever-present smile. She taught us by example that family and tradition were the gifts bestowed upon us on our arrival here on earth, and that they should never be forgotten. Baba believed in the value of a hard day's work, modelled unconditional love and acceptance and was very proud of her family and roots. Her generosity never failed and she would be the first to offer her help to anyone who needed it.
Special thanks to the staff at Vita Personal Care Home for recognizing her vitality even when her memory began to fade and caring for her in so many special ways that went above and beyond your basic duties. You all have played a very important part in ensuring her life remained purposeful and full of love.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Vita, Manitoba with internment taking place in the Parish Cemetery.
