It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Ernest P. Dueck, 83, of Steinbach, MB, formerly of Niverville, MB, on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his daughter Claudette (Martin) Gabbs, three grandchildren: Marc, Catherine and Brian; three great-grandchildren: Austin, Drake and Jade Unrau, as well as two brothers Eric (Anne), Frank and three sisters: Mary (Art) Toews, Helen Kehler and Agnes Kluke; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Yvette in 2013, his daughter Maria Dueck in 2016, his parents Jacob & Helen Dueck, brothers Jacob and Edward, and great-granddaughters Chloe and Jessica Unrau.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Porath, the nurses and staff at Rest Haven Nursing Home for the care that they provided to him over the past few years.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52W, Steinbach, MB. Viewing will be prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Arthritis Society of Manitoba.
