SUSANNA VOGT/ZACHARIAS (NEE BROESKY)
July 23, 1929 - September 21, 2016

Susanna Vogt/Zacharias (nee Broesky) was born on July 23, 1929 in the R.M. of Hanover, Manitoba, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Isaac (Ike) Zacharias, three daughters and three sons: Ella (Len) Sawatzky, Jeanne (Henry) Schulz, Ray (Dora) Vogt, Marvin (Marlene) Vogt, Danny (Sharon) Vogt, Shiela (Brian) Harder, 23 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Step children: Len (Myra) Zacharias, Ken (Val) Zacharias, Cheryl (Arnold) Reimer, Lori (Warren) Biedler, Karen (Jeff) Wood, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lenora Gauthier, brother Edward (Margaret) Broesky, sisters-in-law: Mary Broesky, Agatha Broesky, Joyce Beck, Margaret Gerbrandt and Helen Vogt.

Susanna was predeceased by her parents: Abraham F and Maria Broesky, her first husband David D. Vogt in 1989, and her son Larry Vogt in 2015, six sisters (two in infancy), and nine brothers.

Mom was a very hard working creative person who was not afraid to tackle any job, be it cooking, sewing, gardening or milking cows. She had an incredible sense of humour in life and even in her illness.

Our mom accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour in 1960. This began her spiritual journey. She was very active in church serving in various positions through the years. It was her faith in God and godly example that we children were inspired to follow. She was steady as a rock. We will miss our mom’s inspiration and encouragement.

Her personality was such that people old and young were attracted to her. Mom made friends wherever she went and had the ability to make everyone feel special, whether it was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This was also evident in how she accepted her step children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express appreciation and gratitude for all the prayers, words of encouragement, cards and expressions of sympathy received from family and friends. A special thank you to Pastor Darrell and the Gospel Fellowship Church family.

The viewing will take place on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with the interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB. Viewing also prior to the service.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Susan may be made to Gospel Fellowship Church (in memo line: Missions), Steinbach, MB.
