ADRIAN PETER KELLY
October 7, 1937 – August 26, 2016
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dad is survived by his wife of 59 years Eileen (nee Eyolfson); sons Tim (Cathy), Terry (June), Tracy (Petra), and Michael (Joanne); grandchildren: Rachel (Blain), Robert, Morgan (Nathan), Kirsten, Jessica (Shawn), Sherry Anne, Jordan, Mackenzie, Grace, and Samuel; great-grandchildren Memphis and Benjamin; his sister Pat Rolls of California, along with several nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his parents Ben and Elizabeth Kelly, brothers Ben, Gerald, and Lawrence, sister Denise Crawford, and infant grandson Steven.
Dad was raised in St. Vital and married Mom on January 19, 1957. He joined the St. Vital Fire Department on October 1, 1964 and served with the Winnipeg Fire Department for 38 years until his retirement as District Chief on October 19, 2002. Dad moved the family to Ste. Anne in 1978 where he and Mom lived until his passing. He enjoyed going for coffee and keeping up with the local gossip. Dad enjoyed ice fishing and Sunday night crib games at the local restaurant, and he loved his visits to the casino.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dad’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Green Acres Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Firefighters Burn Fund.
