HELENA WIELER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helena Wieler, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle of heart failure. She was 73.

Helena was born in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico on Apr. 8, 1943. She married David Wieler in 1962. God blessed them with nine children, and in October of 1986 they moved their family to Steinbach, MB.

She is lovingly remembered by her seven sons, David (Anna), Peter (Elizabeth), Jake (Lisa), Henry (Maria), John (Susie), Frank (Dallas), and Will (Susie); and two daughters, Helen (Dan Sawatzky) and Trudy (Zenon Wolkowicz). She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, in whom she took great delight.

While we are very sad that she is gone, we are grateful to God that Helena was at peace and ready for her eternal rest. Her faith in God was steadfast and unwavering, always encouraging her children and grandchildren to live for Jesus.

The family would like to thank the personnel and the staff of Bethesda Hospital who cared for Helena during her lengthy stay at the hospital.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52 W, Steinbach, with interment at Heritage Cemetery, and viewing at the chapel prior to the service.

Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel 1-204-346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030.
