The morning of June 27, 2016, after a short battle with cancer, Aurelia Kroeker slipped peacefully into the waiting arms of her Lord. She passed away in the Gimli Hospital at the age of 87. She leaves for the time being her six children, Mark and wife Frances; Roy and wife Viola; Terry and wife Marilyn; Wendell and wife Rita; Debbie and husband Brad; Dennis and wife Linda, twenty grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren.
Aurelia was predeceased by her husband Menno, grandson Joshua, sisters Tina Reimer, Marie Neufeld, and brother Henry Peters.
Aurelia married Menno Kroeker on July 24, 1949. She was a pastor’s wife for many years. Together they served in Portage la Prairie, Kola, Riverton, Macgregor, Tabor, AB, Cuauhtemoc, MX, and back in Riverton where they retired. She loved people and was always very hospitable to the many people who came through the door of their home. Young and old counted her as their friend and spent hours with her playing scrabble or puzzling.
One of Aurelia’s life mottos was, “Be kind, for everyone is fighting a battle.”
The funeral will be held at the Riverton Gospel Chapel on Saturday, July 2, 2pm with burial at Mennville EMC.
