May 7, 1958 – June 4, 2016
It is with profound sadness and with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Arthur Mireault, at the age of 58, on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
Left to cherish his memory are his three brothers and six sisters: Hubert, Jean-Louis & Diane, Françoise & Greg Balan, Hélène & Sheldon Krentz, Jeanne & Stephen Shore, Monique & Randy Sorokowski, Yvon, Rita & Claude Simard, and Pauline & Louis Dumas. Also left to mourn are his nieces and nephews: Jocelyne, Amber, Stéphanie, Daniel, Drew, Daphne, Robyn, David, Mallory, Catherine, Josée and Olivia. Arthur will also be missed by numerous friends.
Arthur was predeceased recently by his mother Denise Mireault (née Manaigre) in March, 2016 and his father Lucien Mireault in July, 1990.
Arthur was raised on a family farm in La Broquerie, Manitoba. He was the eldest child to Lucien and Denise Mireault. Following completion of high school, Arthur aspired to higher education. He studied many years and received his CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation in 1995. After years of dedicated service as an auditor, with the provincial government and Manitoba Public Insurance, he retired in June, 2015. Arthur had many interests including reading, running, traveling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and golfing. He was a sports enthusiast as well as an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time at his cottage at Otter Lake and at the family farm. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Arthur was a kind hearted and generous person. He was always willing to help where needed and placed the needs of others before his own. He had a quiet and gentle nature and his presence was felt at every gathering and function. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Arthur’s neighbours Darryl and Sean, and the emergency first responders for their assistance.
Prayers and viewing will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., with mass following at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church in La Broquerie, MB. Pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arthur may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
