Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJIM (R.J.) WRIGHT, Master Warrant Officer (Retired)
Jim (R.J.) Wright, of Richer, Manitoba, passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on May 27th, 2016. Predeceased by loving wife and soul mate Barbara, a year earlier. Also predeceased by his parents James R. and Jean Marie Wright and sister in law Edie.
Survived by brothers David, Richard (Carol), and Thomas (Susie) as well as sons Robert (Kim), Dennis (Nicky), William (Colleen) Moore, and daughter Sherry Arseneault. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Theresa (Mark), Cody, Blake (Sadie), Carson and Cale.
Jim was born in Fairfield, New Brunswick and spent his early years in the Moncton area. When he was 17 he began a 35 year career in the Canadian Armed Forces and postings in Germany, the Arctic, and Egypt as well as throughout Canada fuelled his desire for adventure and travel. Upon retirement from the Armed Forces he promptly secured a position as the Transportation Manager at the Sunrise School Division in Manitoba.
Once fully retired, he was able to pursue more leisurely activities. Barb and Jim embarked on many excursions but always returned home to share their passions for gardening and their beloved Yorkies. Jim could also be found in his workshop building furniture, birdhouses, and beautiful items to be treasured by family recipients or outside re-stocking the bird feeders for the squirrels.
As per Jim’s wishes, he has been interred alongside his beloved wife in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, or your local Humane Society.
