ANNE WIEBE (nee Regehr)
May 6, 1924 - April 22, 2016
On Friday, April 22, 2016, peacefully, and with her family at her side, Anne Wiebe joined her husband and sisters in heaven.
Mom was born May 6, 1924, in Munsterberg in the southern Ukraine, to Abraham and Elizabeth Regehr. The family emigrated to Canada in August 1925 and in spring settled in Steinbach, MB.
Mom accepted Christ as her Saviour at the age of 12 and in 1939, she was baptized, by her father, upon the confession of her faith.
In September 1951, she went to Winnipeg, MB, to train as an LPN. This consisted of three month of theory followed by 9 month of practical training at the Morden District General Hospital, Morden, MB. She worked as a nurse from June 1953 to December 1987, working at the Tabor Home in Morden, MB, Morden Hospital, Morden, MB and the Personal Care Home in Steinbach, MB.
She married William Wiebe on April 15, 1963, and became a step-mother and oma. In 1966, she became a mother.
In 1975, they moved to Steinbach where Mom lived till her passing.
She was predeceased by: her husband William, her step-son Art, two brothers and six sisters.
She is survived: by her daughter Dorothy; her husband Dan Peters and their sons: Jordan, Ben and Alex. Art’s children: Darlene, Bill, Dennis, Doug and their families. Her sister Tina, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also had a special friendship with Art’s wife Faye, with whom she shared many phone conversations.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mennonite Brethren Church, Steinbach, MB, with burial at the Memorial Cemetery, Steinbach, MB. The viewing will take place at the church prior to the service.
