ADOLF DOERKSEN
August 17, 1962 – March 12, 2016

Adolf Doerksen was born on August 17, 1962 in Loma Plata, Paraguay.

He was baptized on the confession of his faith on February 1, 1981 in the Mennonite Church in Loma Plata, Paraguay.

Adolf married Sara Peters on November 2, 1985. In 1986, they moved to Canada. They were married for 30 years. Together they had four children, all of them were born in Canada. He worked at Woodland Supply in Winnipeg for 16 years and after that he was installing cabinets for Penner Building Centre for about 10 years.

Adolf always had a dream of becoming a truck driver. In June 2015, his dream became reality and he started to drive long distance. Until Sara was finished with her class 1 licence, Adolf was driving single. In October of 2015, they started to drive together, which both of them enjoyed very much.

Adolf also had some hobbies which were woodworking, camping, fishing and barbequing. But the most of all, he liked to spend time with his grandchildren.

Adolf passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:53 p.m. at the age of 53 at a truck stop in Phoenix, Arizona.

Adolf leaves behind his beloved wife Sara, two daughters: Conny and Sonija; two sons: Randy and Timmy; one son-in-law, Michael; and four grandchildren. He also leaves behind his mother, Helana Doerksen and 9 siblings and their families. Also, his mother-in-law, Lena Peters; all the siblings of Sara with their families, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and a big circle of friends. He will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his father Jacob Doerksen, father-in-law Hein Peters and two brothers: Billy and Arthur.

We as a family would like to give thanks to our Father in heaven for giving us strength and courage to still keep going in this hard time. We also want to thank each and everyone who brought food, flowers, cards or encouraging words. Thank you for all the prayers. May God bless you all.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd, Steinbach, MB, with the burial following at Grunthal Cemetery, Grunthal, MB. The viewing took place prior to the service.
