Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDMUND OBODZINSKI
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Edmund, peacefully on Friday, March 18, at age 88.
He leaves to mourn his children Ronald (Maria), Karen (John), Allen (Pam), Laurie (Earl), Mark (Terry), and Brenda (John). He leaves 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Edmund also leaves his special friend and companion, Stella Barta, four sisters, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife Mary in 1992 and grandson Aaron Oliver in 2004.
Dad was born on January 8, 1928 and lived all of his life on the family farm in Hadashville, MB. He attended Zamek School where he met Mary his wife of 41 years. Dad and Mom raised their six children on the farm. He also worked in forestry and spent 26 years with the Manitoba Parks Branch. Dad was a man larger than life who loved his family. He was a dedicated parish member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hadashville, where he served as the caretaker and treasurer for over 50 years. Dad loved to spend his time outdoors cutting wood and maintaining his yard, always with a four-legged friend by his side.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Whitemouth Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Dad really enjoyed the past year he spent there and called it home.
The service to remember Edmund was held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to Whitemouth Personal Care Home, Box 160, Whitemouth, MB R0E 2G0, or St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund Box 48 Hadashville R0E 0C0 (both available at the service).
