HARTLEY KLIPPENSTEIN
May 8, 1938 - March 6, 2016

It is with bitter-sweetness, that I announce my Dad, Hartley Klippenstein, passed into the arms of Jesus on the beautiful evening of March 6, 2016. It was a day we were able to spend with him and extended family by his side, creating the bustle and commotion he loved.

Dad was a wonderful toy maker and story teller, he would have started the day in his workshop to greet the sunrise with CBC radio blaring to be heard above the saw, giddy to plant his garden. My Dad loved his toy workshop business, Toys from the Heart; St. Norbert Farmers’ Market was his second career, a passion since it began—trucks, pull-dogs and trains, Ginger-bread houses and home décor he created with his sweetheart of 55 years, Frances.

My Dad greets his folks Anna and Jack, his brother Ken (Marlene); family, friends he hunted, fished, traveled, shared business with. We who live will continue to share our living memories—his wife, Frances, daughter Cherie (Leonard Brisebois), granddaughters Micayla and Katie, his brother Barry (Jacque), sister Cherrill (John Andrelunas) and brother Bruce (Linda), his cousins, nieces and nephews.

I miss his voice, his always busy hands, waking to the sound of his sawing, his purposeful walking, and his celebration of any and all events. The lives he touched are too many to number, but the wonderful memories he created will remain with all who loved him.

The memorial service will be Friday, March 11, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52 W., Steinbach, MB. “When you come to St. Norbert be sure to visit…”

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Hartley may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street; Wpg., MB R3L 0K6.
