1937-2016
For his many friends and family, the music has died. After many years battling the effects of several strokes and diabetes. Speed Smith Walker passed away at home January 3, 2016. His wife Fay and her close friend Judy by his side.
He is predeceased by his parents, sister Kathy, brother Jim and brother-in-law Ron.
Left to mourn are his wife Fay, his children Kevin, Kerry (Elaine), Kelly (Rhonda), Cheryl (TJ), Curt (Michelle), Landis and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren, his sister Lee Ann (Lawrence) and sisters-in-law Enid and Donna.
Fay wishes to thank the home care workers, nurses and Dr. Sawchuk for their compassionate care and understanding.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment will be held in Piney later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
