Elizabeth (Betty) Peters, 86, of Steinbach, formerly of Mitchell passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Rest Haven Personal Care Home. She is survived by one sister, two sisters-in-law and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, three brothers and two brothers-in-law.
Betty was born on March 17, 1929 in the R.M. of Hanover to Peter W. and Justina Peters. She grew up on the “Peters” farm in the village known at that time as “Vollverk”, attended the Mitchell School from Grade 1-8 and later worked for Burns Meats for 20 years. She was baptized in the Chortitzer Church in Chortitz, MB in 1951.
Betty was a quiet woman with amazing strength and courage. Although she did not have children of her own she cared very deeply for all her nieces and nephews. This was reciprocated by the many visits she received from them.
Our Lord has called her home and we will cherish her in our memories forever.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. The Interment will be at the Peters Private Cemetery, Mitchell, MB.
Interment will be at the Peters Private Cemetery, Mitchell, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Steinbach CMC Church.
The Family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses and health care aides at the Rest Haven Nursing Home and the Vita Hospital.
