MARIE JEANNE IRENE RITA GROENING
(Hill nee Boivin)
September 11, 1929 – November 22, 2015

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother at Ste. Anne’s Hospital.

She was predeceased by her mother Louise Boivin (D’Argis); father Wilfred Boivin; husband John Groening; brothers George and Ben Boivin; sisters Alice Pelland and Mae Halleux.

She is survived by her loving children Sharron (Dennis), Holly (Ian), Roy (Edmee) and Tim (Angele). She is also survived by her sister Martha Roberge from Duncan, BC.

She will be deeply missed by all her grandchildren, Andrea, Clint (Denese), Marla, Arlo, Trevor (Suzanne), Jody (Kevin), Shannon (Jeff), Jason, Justine (JP), Tifani (Derek), Mathew, and Adam (Kary); as well as great-grandchildren Owyn, Mason, Kenyute, Kya, Loghan, Austin, Kaden, Haley, and newest member Parker.

Irene cherished her friends, as well as all those she recently met during her stay at The Chalet in La Broquerie, Manitoba and her volunteer drivers that got her to her most important days at the Villa in Ste. Anne’s, Manitoba.

She loved bingo, bowling, traveling, crafts, walking, driving her car, singing, visiting with her friends, cooking, Christmas with her family, shopping for clothes, getting her hair and nails done. She was very fussy about her clean house and clean dishes.

Irene will be remembered for being a wonderful Mother and Grandmother; always there to help.

The family would like to thank all the Doctors and the caring staff at the hospitals in Winkler, Steinbach, and Ste. Anne; and also to the staff that assisted with Irene’s daily living at The Chalet in La Broquerie, Manitoba.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4G2.
