SARAH WIEBE
(nee Toews)
August 2, 1927 - November 1, 2015
On Sunday, November 1, 2015, Sarah Wiebe (nee Toews) peacefully passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach to be reunited in heaven with loved ones who preceded her.
Sarah is survived by her daughters: Helen (Peter) Dueck, Lisa (Rick) Carlson, Mary (Steve) Harel, Martha (Doug) Braun, and Barb (Darrell) Hornan. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters: Nettie (Pete) Klippenstein, Liz Loeppky, and Mary (Jake) Friesen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Peter, her parents Peter and Helena Toews, one brother, two sisters and one great-grandchild.
Mom and Dad were married on September 22, 1948. Mom was a kind, compassionate and generous person. She was a hardworking homemaker who took pride in everything she did. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crafts, and made sure her yard was always pristine. She was caretaker of the New Bothwell Sommerfelder Church for many years. In her later years, she passed time doing picture puzzles, embroidery and knitting.
The family wishes to thank the homecare workers, the staff at Bethesda Hospital, and her friends for their compassionate care.
The funeral service for Sarah Wiebe will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Bothwell Sommerfelder Church, New Bothwell, MB, with viewing prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, New Bothwell Sommerfelder Church, or to a charity of one’s choice.
