JOHN HIEBERT

John went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the age of 76, at his residence in Landmark, Manitoba. John was born on August 26, 1939 to his parents John L. and Susana Hiebert.

He leaves to mourn his passing: one brother, Leonard (Olga), two sisters Susan and Tina (Paul) Friesen, two sisters-in-law Helen Hiebert and Alvina (Henry) Klassen, and numerous nieces and nephews. John had a special family, Dennis and Wilma Keating, their son Ian and his family.

John was predeceased by: his parents John L. and Susana Hiebert, five brothers: Dick, Pete, Harry, Jake and Erwin; two sisters Helen Carlin and Linda, two sisters-in-law Luella (Peter) Sinclair and Hanna (Jake) Hiebert.

John had a full life in spite of his difficulties. He lost his right leg in a motorcycle accident at the age of 18. He always worked: farming, working for farmers and number of years at the cheese factory. Later he took up operating the backhoe for Southwinds Plumbing & Heating. When Jake sold out, he bought the backhoe and went into business for himself. He owned and operated John’s Backhoe Service until the last few months, when his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed his work and was very good at what he did. He dug over 500 graves.

John made a lot of friends along the way and spoke of them often. His work here on earth is done!

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Bothwell Christian Fellowship, New Bothwell, MB, with viewing at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Silberfeld Cemetery.
