Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES W. REIMER
My loving husband, our father and grandfather, James W. Reimer, was born to Henry B. and Mary Wohlgemuth Reimer on December 17, 1947 at Steinbach, Manitoba. At 1:00 P.M., on Thursday, September 24, 2015, the angels came and took him home. Death was caused by multiple myeloma which he valiantly fought for three years.
Dad grew up in Greenland, Manitoba on the family farm. He was the second oldest in a family of 10. At the age of 13, he responded to the call of God and was baptized on December 10, 1961 by Minister Ed Barkman at Greenland, Manitoba. The church and faith was precious to him and we feel comforted in knowing that today he is in Heaven, resting under the alter of God.
On January 28, 1975 he joined hands in marriage to Jenny Isaac at Kleefeld, Manitoba. They enjoyed 40 years together. Three children were born to this union. They began their married life at Clearsprings, Manitoba. Within a few months they moved to a farm at Kleefeld, Manitoba. Dad had various occupations, working at Loewen Windows for several years. When a farming opportunity came up, he began raising pork. This he thoroughly enjoyed and did an excellent job, receiving various awards over the years. His quiet and steady nature kept him going through the good times as well as the difficult times. In 2010, he quit farming and soon began working for Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. Here he enjoyed making new friends and loved telling his family of his road adventures. It was always important to Dad to be on the job those days that were assigned to him, although his many appointments sometimes made this a challenge.
A highlight in Dad’s life was the 2 week family vacation we took to eastern Canada in 1989. Taking time for others was very important to Dad. Often times Dad and Mom would be seen going to visit some seniors. It was very enjoyable to him when he could listen to singing. Decisions were not made on the ‘spur of the moment.’ When we would ask Dad about something, his response often was “I’m going to have to sleep over it”.
Left to cherish precious memories are: his beloved wife, Jenny; his three children and five grandchildren: Curtis and Allison and their children Liam and Shirley of Kleefeld, Manitoba, Arthur and Sara and their children Daniel, Natalie, and Nadine of Victoria Harbor, Ontario, and Anita of Winnipeg, Manitoba; his mother Mary Reimer of Maplewood Manor, Steinbach, Manitoba; four brothers and five sisters: Peter and Lois, Grandview, Manitoba, Selma, Steinbach, Manitoba, Herman and Clarice, Beausejour, Manitoba, Sarah and Dayton Penner, Beausejour, Manitoba, Florence and Delmar Reimer, Crystal City, Manitoba, Irma, Steinbach, Manitoba, Earl and Karen, Carrot River, Saskatchewan, Irene and Delbert Nightingale, Fairview, Oklahoma, and Mark and Edna, Steinbach, Manitoba.
