FRIEDA KRENTZ
Frieda Krentz, age 90 years, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Steinbach, MB.
She is survived by: two daughters: Mildred Paterson of Duncan, British Columbia, and Angela (Leo) Gerardy of Steinbach, Manitoba; one son Barry (Carol) Krentz of Steinbach, Manitoba; seven grandchildren: Kelly (Cori-lee) Paterson, Jodi (Francis) Bordeleau, Shannon Krentz (wife of the late Matthew Krentz), Mark Krentz, Cherie (Dean Ferenc), Kristin (Nathan) Wiebe and Jessica Gerardy (fiancé Ismail Hussein); and 11 great-grandchildren: Hannah, Randy, Sophie, Natalie, Esme, Tovah, Kadeisha, Alyssa, Lexi, Devin and Cameron. She is also survived by one brother, one brother-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
She was predeceased by her husband Gottlieb Krentz, one son, Geoffry in infancy, one grandson Matthew Krentz, three sisters and two brothers.
Frieda was born and raised in the Bristol area. She married Gottleib Krentz on November 17, 1943. They worked on their dairy farm until retiring in 1981. Together they moved to Steinbach and lived at 502 Gordon Street for many years.
She was a very hard worker. She enjoyed farming, gardening, cleaning, and spending time helping on her children’s farm- looking after her grandchildren.
Frieda was a lifelong, devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach, with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Hwy 12 South, R.M. of Hanover, MB. Viewing will be held at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frieda may be made to Haven Group Foundation, 177 Woodhaven Ave, Steinbach, MB, R5G 1K7; or St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 465 Henry St., Steinbach, MB, R5G 0H1.
