AGANETHA (Nettie) RHODE

Aganetha (Nettie) Rhode, age 73, of Pansy, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 26, 1941 to Abram and Helena Friesen.

Nettie is survived by her husband of almost 25 years , Jacob Rhode, and the four children from her first marriage: Harvey (Hulga) and children Larissa, Tylor and Sheldon; Sherry (Randy Bergman) and children Garry, Courtney (Darcy)and grandchild Xena, Brandon; Verna (Pete), Shawn and Jeremy ; and Stanley; as well as four brothers, three sisters and many acquaintances.

She was predeceased by: her first husband Peter Funk, her parents Abe and Helena Friesen and one brother Edward.

Nettie enjoyed many of the simple things in life: sight-seeing, visiting, old-fashioned gospel singing, cats and she was fun loving. In her healthy days, she was known to often have a twinkle in her eye as she was thinking of something fun to say or do.

She was baptised upon her faith in Christ as a young woman, and she cherished the fellowship of her local church, as long as she was able.

The viewing will be held on Friday, September 11th, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. with a devotional to follow at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, and also at the chapel prior to the funeral service.

The funeral service for Nettie will be held Saturday, September 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with interment to follow at Memorial Cemetery (on Brandt St in Steinbach).
