Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE FROESE
On Sunday, August 30, 2015, surrounded by family, our dear mom, grandmother, and great grandmother was called to her heavenly home. Kathy was 83 years old and lived at Rest Haven Personal Care Home in Steinbach.
Kathy was born on October 18, 1931. She was the daughter of Peter and Anna Harder. Kathy lived most of her life in Steinbach with her husband Peter and eight children. With such a large family, she was certainly kept busy caring for everyone. She was an excellent home maker and took great pride in looking after her family. Kathy kept an immaculate home and she was always preparing delicious meals. On top of that, she sewed many beautiful outfits for her children while they were young. She also kept a garden for many years and did a lot of canning to prepare for the winter months. When she did have time to herself, she enjoyed reading her Bible very much.
Kathy was predeceased by her husband Peter and her son Peter.
Kathy is survived by: six daughters, one son, and their families: Tina and Ike Peters, Anne and George Harder, Maria and Andrew Livingston, Helen and Marty Rempel, Margaret and Henry Penner, John Froese and Hinke, Nettie and Norm Thiessen, sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff at Rest Haven Personal Care Home for the many years of devoted care they provided.
The funeral service was held on September 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
We believe that her faith in God is what helped mom through the most difficult times. A passage mom had underlined:
The Twenty-Third Psalm
1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of Katherine may be made to Haven Group Foundation (in cheque memo line: Rest Haven Nursing Home),177 Woodhaven Ave, Steinbach, MB, R5G 1K7.
