DALLAS DUFAULT

Dallas Dufault, 56, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Monday, August 24, in the presence of her loving husband, in Towner County Medical Center, Cando, ND.

Dallas Norma Barkman was born on January 29, 1959, to Gordon and Norma (Borkowsky) Barkman, in Steinbach, Manitoba. She spent her youth there attending Elmdale Elementary and Steinbach Junior High before graduating from Balmoral Hall Boarding School in Winnepeg in 1977. As a teen, Dallas worked in Gimili, MB, at a camp for children with special needs and later as the recreational director for special needs children in her hometown of Steinbach. She then attended college at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks until 1980.

Dallas was united in marriage to Mark Dufault, on June 7, 1980, in St. Rose Catholic Church, Argyle. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Kelly and Megan. After the girls were in school, she began working as a teacher's aide in Argyle: a job she held for over 17 years.

When she was a young girl, Dallas was diagnosed with an AVM in her brain. Her parents were told she would only live a few years at best. Dallas blew everyone away beating those and many other adversities, without complaint, until her very last day. Dallas loved spending summers at her parent’s cottage on Victoria Beach, Lake Winnepeg. Her greatest love of all was her family, especially her grandchildren with whom she longed to run around. She will be forever cherished in the hearts of her husband and daughters.

In addition to her husband of over 35 years, Mark; Dallas is survived by her daughters, Kelly Dufault of Fargo and Megan (Trevor) Tompkins of Cando; grandchildren, Rylie, Aubrey, and Alexis; parents, Gordon and Norma; mother-in-law, Theresa Dufault; siblings, Kurt (Eva) Barkman of Denver, CO, Andrew (Monique) of Montreal, Quebec, and Anne (David Banman) Barkman of Steinbach; and many other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jacob and Helena Barkman and Henry and Martha Borkowsky; father-in-law, Kenneth Dufault; and several aunts and uncles.
