CATHERINE PAULS
(nee Stoesz)

Catherine Pauls (nee Stoesz) passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2015 at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, at the age of 82.

"Katie" attended Le Blanc School for her elementary years and spent one year of High School at MBCI in Winnipeg before getting a job at The Hudson's Bay Company. She loved her job and spent three happy years there before she met and married Wally Pauls. They lived in Arnaud for one year before moving to Niverville where they raised four children.

Kaye, as she became known, loved life and giving of herself to her community and church. She spent many enjoyable hours volunteering at the Niverville Fair, expressing her creativity at the MCC Thrift Shop, providing a caring, loving ear at Youth For Christ Young Moms, and singing in the Keenagers Choir.

She enjoyed travelling, especially to the Holy Land, flower gardening, playing golf and baseball, but above all, she loved being at their cottage at Caddy Lake where she spent most of her time outdoors working on the yard, swimming and relaxing in the sunshine. Sharing her cottage with family and friends was her greatest joy, especially the ladies weekends of fellowship, sharing and fun! Another of her greatest joys was spending time with her precious grandchildren.

When Parkinsons robbed Catherine of her ability to participate actively in life, her gentle, loving spirit shone through as she bravely lived the ravages of this progressive disease. Her faith kept her strong and her feisty, fun-loving spirit endeared her to staff and to all she met.

Catherine was predeceased by her parents David G. and Maria Stoesz, sister Anne Neufeld, brother David Stoesz, and brothers-in-law Pete Neufeld and Neil Fast.

She is survived by her husband Wally of 62 years, four children: Beverly, Robert (Rachel), Douglas (Sherry) and Bonny (Rick); her grandchildren: Roberta (James), Greg (Jaclyn), Kathy (Nathan); Jolene, Jaymie (Jeromy), Stefanie (Eric), Brielle; Patrick, Julia, and Katelyn, her great-grandchildren: Oscar, Tyson, Lauren; Dallas Marie, Luke, and Lincoln; brother John Stoesz (Ellen), sister Betty Fast and sister-in-law Mary Stoesz..

Funeral service for Catherine Pauls will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fourth Avenue Bible Church in Niverville, with a private committal service following.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Catherine Pauls to the Heritage Life Personal Care Home — Palliative Care Program by making cheques payable to the Niverville Health and Community Foundation. Please include HLPCH in the memo field of the cheque.

The family wishes to thank the many people who took care of Catherine including the wonderful staff at the Grunthal Menno Home and at the Niverville Heritage Life Personal Care Home, for their kind and loving care of our dear Catherine.
