ISAAC GIESBRECHT

Mr. Isaac “FIG” Giesbrecht died unexpectedly in the Health Science Center on April 11th, 2015 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 55.

Isaac is survived by his wife, Paulette and his sons, Denny, Clinton and Brett. He is preceded in death by his mother Margaret (nee Hildebrandt) and his father Bernhard Giesbrecht, of Tolstoi.

Isaac was born on February 10th, 1960 in Emerson, Manitoba. He married Paulette Maynard of St-Malo, the love of his life, in 1986. In December of 1994, Isaac began working for Powell Equipment/Toromont Cat.

Isaac was a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and going to the cabin in Bissett, and was an experienced diesel mechanic. He was coach, assistant coach and team manager for the Niverville Clippers for over a decade. He often was found quadding, dressed in full camouflage, steel toe boots and some unusual hat. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. He was an extremely kind and friendly man and never hesitated to invite friends, family and strangers in for a chat. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A viewing is scheduled for 1:00pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 17th, 2015 at The Word of Life Church, 233-3rd Street South, Niverville, MB with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Isaac's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either the Children’s Wish Foundation at http://www.childrenswish.ca/ or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada at https://beta.mssociety.ca/ .
