SHIRLEY PETERS
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Peters, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend.
Shirley, 52, died on Friday April 3, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer.
Shirley was born in Winkler on May 29, 1962 to Jacob and Eva Peters. She spent her early years in Winkler and Grunthal and the remainder of her years in and around the Steinbach area.
First and foremost, Shirley was a devoted caregiver. She cared for her father during his struggle with cancer and she was a long time caregiver to her mother Eva. In addition to this, she was also a dedicated home care employee for more than 25 years, caring for people in the community and often going above and beyond what was required.
She is survived by her mother Eva, her brothers: John (Joyce), Jack, and Abe (Ida); and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Jacob Peters and her brother Frank Peters.
She will be missed by many.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Bethesda Hospital for the compassionate care that they provided to Shirley and her family during this difficult time.
