Gladwin Barkman was born to Jacob F. and Margaret Dyck Barkman, on March 11, 1925, at Steinbach, MB. Dad peacefully went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2014, at the Maplewood Manor. He reached the age of 89 years.
Those left to cherish fond memories are: his loving wife, Irma; daughters: Ruth and Lewis Klassen, Linden, AB; Joan and Lloyd Klassen, Beaverlodge, AB; Lois and Youssef Solomon, Sarasota, FL; Lavaun and Kevin Reimer, Steinbach, MB; Arlene and Jonathan Toews, Vanderhoof, BC; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Roland Barkman; and sister-in-law Martha Barkman. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
The viewing will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at Maplewood Manor, at the home street entrance. There will also be a time of viewing at the church prior to the service.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in Steinbach, Manitoba. Interment will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach.
